We are pleased to bring you our next health talk, specifically related to Gynaecological health and cancer awareness. Gynaecological health covers many topics and we will be covering areas such as an awareness of symptoms and predisposing factors to enable early diagnosis, proactive care and management including lifestyle. We would also like to raise awareness of the importance of cervical screening.
We are delighted to be joined for this talk by Miss Adeola Olaitan, a Consultant Gynaecological Oncologist, who will be happy to answer any questions and discuss this topic in more detail. Diabetes Awareness Week 12 – 18 June 2023
Diabetes Week (12-18 June 2023) is a weeklong event raising awareness about Diabetes and encouraging individuals to be open and talk about their experiences. Our service hosts a free NHS expert-led live and interactive ‘Diabetes and Emotional Wellbeing’ webinar for those living with Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes.
A diabetes diagnosis can require behavioural changes, such as adapting your diet or taking regular medication which can be difficult to manage. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques such as thought challenging,
worry management and sleep strategies can help people to navigate these challenges without getting stuck in a negative cycle. We also have a ‘Living well with Diabetes’ animation video to further support the emotional

Miss Joanna Franks is a Consultant General Surgeon specialising in breast and oncoplastic surgery, for which she treats all malignant and benign breast conditions. She has a keen interest in the early detection of breast cancer, mastectomy, breast conservation, and breast cancer screening. She sees private patients at the Wellington Hospital, King Edwards VII hospital and St John’s, and Elizabeth Hospital.
